NDLEA After Davido over his new music video

Nigerian artistes are sometimes known to be reckless with their music videos. Sometimes ago, Olamide shot a video for his song, ‘Story For The gods’, which some people were not happy about because it showed ladies intending to caress each other.

Popular Nigerian artiste, Davido, did a song with US-based artiste, Meek Mill entitled ‘Fans Mi’ and he recently released the video.

But this seems to have landed him in trouble because of a scene the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is not happy about.

In the visuals, a scene showed where a briefcase full of cash and a bag full parcel of hard drugs were put on display.

Speaking on the video, NDLEA’s Head of Public Affairs, Michael Ofoyeju, said the agency considers the video inappropriate and indecent.

“The agency considers the musical video ‘Fans Mi’ inappropriate and indecent. It has the tendency to negatively influence and induce drug use and trafficking. Besides, it is counter-productive on the campaign against drug production, trafficking and abuse. The agency is investigating the matter and will take necessary action,” Ofoyeju said.

Yemi Alade blast BET Awards organizer's

The two Nigerians artistes that got nominated at the awards were Yemi Alade and Wizkid,
they both got nominated on the Best International Act (Africa) category.
One of the Nigerian contingents at the awards Yemi Alade, has expressed her displeasure with the organizers of the awards pointing out where they gone wrong and undermining the category that concerned Africans

The angry Yemi took to her Instagram handle to post a not too happy looking picture of herself with a caption.

“When bae says he misses you…#imaginaryBae By the way … @bet_intl Africa is not a country!!!… It is wrong to nominate huge African stars and publicly try to humiliate Africa. Why on Earth is the African category of the awards held hours before the main event? If African artistes are not worthy in your sight. Pls by all means cancel delete, omit best international act (Africa) category out of the glorified awards.
This is wrong!!! Wrong wrong wrong.
Meanwhile
Pls next time, credibility over padypady!!”

Okonjo Iweala Spent $2.1b Without Approval, says FG

The National Economic Council, chaired by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, on Monday accused a former Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, of spending $2.1bn from the Excess Crude Account without authorisation.

“We looked at the numbers for the Excess Crude Account. The last time the former Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, reported to the council, and it is in the minutes, she reported by November 2014 that we had $4.1 bn.

“Today, the Accountant-General Office reported we have $2.0bn. Which means the honourable minister spent $2.1bn without authority of the NEC and that money was not distributed to states, it was not paid to the three tiers of government,” Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole told State House correspondents after the NEC’s 58th meeting in Abuja.

The ‘unauthorised’ spending, according to the economic council, is among the several anomalies discovered in the management of the nation’s economy between 2012 and May 2015.

Within the period, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation was said to have earned a total of N8.1 tn but remitted only N4.3tn.

Consequently, the Federal Government has constituted Oshiomhole, Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai; Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel; and Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo, into a panel to probe the NNPC and the ECA between 2012 and May, 2015.

Oshiomhole, el-Rufai, Emmanuel and the Zamfara State Governor, Abdulazeez Yari, jointly briefed journalists at the end of the meeting.

Yari told the journalists, through the Director of Funds, Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr. M.K. Dikwa, that council members received the report of the ECA and unremitted funds by the NNPC.

He said, “On that line, a four-man committee consisting of the governors of Edo, Gombe, Kaduna and Akwa Ibom states was constituted to go through the books of the NNPC and Excess Crude as well as the Federation Account.

”The four-man committee will check the books of the NNPC, most especially the issue of excess crude and what is not remitted into the Federation Account.

“The Federal Government, in conjunction with the Central Bank of Nigeria, will look inwards to see how to support and how much they will give to states, especially on the issue of outstanding salaries owed by the states and even the Federal Government.”

Shedding new light on what transpired at the NEC meeting, Oshiomhole said the NNPC and the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation were compelled for the first time to provide information on the total sales of Nigeria’s crude from 2012 to May 2015.

The Edo governor said, “We are talking about transparency; we are talking about change. And what we saw from those numbers, which I believe that Nigerians are entitled to know, is that whereas the NNPC claimed to have earned N8.1tn, what NNPC paid into the Federation Account from 2012 to May 2015 was N4.3tn.

“What it means is that the NNPC withheld and spent N3.8 tn.

“The major revelation here is that the entire federation, that is the Federal Government, the states and all the 774 local governments, the amount the NNPC paid into the Federation Account for distribution to these three tiers of government came to N4.3 tn and the NNPC alone took and spent N3.8tn.

“This means that the cost of running the NNPC is much more than the cost of running the Federal Government. That tells you how much is missing, what is mismanaged and what is stolen. There are huge figures.”

Oshiomhole said the only lawful way decreed by the Constitution was that if the NNPC needed to spend money, it needed to prepare its budget like every other business enterprise, get it scrutinised by the executive and then forward same to the National Assembly for appropriation.

He added, “If the Federal Government cannot spend without appropriation, why should any agency spend without appropriation.

Facebook opens there first office in africa

Facebook announced Monday it had opened its first African office in Johannesburg as part of its efforts “to help people and businesses connect” on the continent.
The office will be headed by Nunu Ntshingila, a former executive at the advertising agency Ogilvy.
“This office will support the significant growth in businesses and people using Facebook,” said a statement from the world’s biggest social network, which has some 1.4 billion active users worldwide including 120 million in Africa.
“We are inspired by the incredible ways people and businesses in Africa use Facebook to connect,” said Nicola Mendelsohn, regional vice president for Facebook.
“Africa is important to Facebook, and this office is a key part of our strategy to expand our investment and presence across (the region). Facebook is already a central part of people’s lives in Africa, and with more than a billion people in Africa, we want to do more to help people and businesses connect.”
Facebook said more than 80 percent of people in African access the social network from their mobile phones.
“Mobile is not a trend; it’s the fastest development in communications we’ve ever seen,” Mendelsohn said.
“This couldn’t be more true in Africa — where so many people are mobile-only. This new office is a significant milestone for Facebook and our teams want to partner with businesses across the continent.”
Facebook will initially focus on in sub-Saharan countries including Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa and will also offer support for Senegal, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia, Mozambique and Ethiopia.
“Facebook will partner with governments, telecom operators, agencies and other stakeholders to deliver localized solutions to advertisers and users continent-wide,” the statement said.

I'm Really Excited joining Arsenal- says petr cech

I’m really excited joining Arsenal, says Cech
on june 29, 2015 at 7:21 pm in news
Facebook Share Twitter Share
Petr Cech said he had the “same hunger for success” after his move across London from Chelsea to Arsenal was confirmed Monday when the Gunners announced he had agreed to join them on a “long-term contract for an undisclosed fee” from the Premier League champions.
The 33-year-old Czech international goalkeeper made over 400 appearances during 11 years at Stamford Bridge after joining from French club Rennes.
Cech, however, has recently found himself playing understudy to Belgian-shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois and made just 15 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea last season.
“I’m really excited about joining Arsenal Football Club and can’t wait to join up for pre-season,” said Cech.
“I have the same commitment to football, the same motivation and the same hunger for success as I had at the beginning of my career, and I love the challenges brought by the top quality players you face while playing in the Premier League.
“When Arsene Wenger spoke to me about his ambitions for this club, and how he saw me as part of this team, the decision was clear.”
Arsenal manager Wenger added: “Petr Cech is a player that I have admired for a long time and I am very pleased that he has decided to join us.
“He has proven over many seasons that he is one of the outstanding ‘keepers in the world and he will add great strength to our squad,” the Frenchman said.
Although the fee was undisclosed, several British media outlets reported Cech had been signed for £10 million ($16 million, 14 million euros) on a four-year deal.

Cech’s haul of 13 major trophies during his time with Chelsea included four Premier League titles and four FA Cups, as well as the 2012 Champions League.
In the same period, Arsenal had to make do with three FA Cup triumphs, including a 4-0 victory over Aston Villa in last season’s final.
– ‘Time to say goodbye’ –
Chelsea hailed Cech as a club ‘icon’ on their website and the keeper himself published a lengthy letter to Blues supporters on his Twitter page, saying he couldn’t quite believe he was leaving Stamford Bridge.
“I thought this would never happen but it is time for me to say goodbye to Chelsea Football Club,” he wrote.
“The club I have lived every single minute for since joining July 2004, the club in which I thought I’d hang my gloves and boots one day and finish my career. But life doesn’t always turn out the way you think it will.
“During the season it became clear that my situation would not improve and as I know I am not at the stage of my career where I want to be on the bench, I made my decision to move on and look for new challenges.”
Cech, a key figure in the Roman Abramovich era at Chelsea, also thanked the club’s billionaire Russian owner for letting him join a rival Premier League side.
“I spoke to Mr Abramovich about me staying in the Premier League and I’d like to thank him from the bottom of my heart for his support in this matter,” Cech said.
“It means so much to me because without him Chelsea Football Club would not be where it is now.”
Cech then saluted Blues supporters by adding: “A huge thank you to the Chelsea fans. I did everything for you and you gave me your love back.
Neither Wojciech Szczesny or David Ospina has been completely convincing between the posts for Arsenal, with many pundits believing Wenger needed to sign a top-class goalkeeper if the Gunners were to challenge for the Premier League title.
Prior to Cech’s move across London, Chelsea captain John Terry said he would improve Arsenal, third in last season’s Premier League, by 12 to 15 points.
Arsenal finished 12 points behind Chelsea last season.

Okorocha, Ihedioha argued over N500b loan

Governor of IMO state

Emeka ihedioha
IMO State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, and former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, are back to the trenches in their war of words following Ihedioha’s call on the former to account for the N500 billion loan he allegedly obtained from banks since he could not pay workers.

However, in a statement at the weekend by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, Okorocha urged Ihedioha to allow him run the state with the decorum and respect it deserves.

“We have heard about those inciting certain groups in the state to cause trouble, but we have chosen to remain calm,” the statement read.

“It is unfortunate that a man who had been in the House of Representatives for 12 years, and Deputy Speaker for four years, and who should know the efficacy of respecting political office, would take delight in abusing his governor without provocation”

He insisted that his free education programme and infrastructure development are testimonies to the facts under reference. He also maintained that he acquired Spibat Estate before becoming governor.

According to Ihedioha, however, “Imolites are in rude shock that while civil servants who, despite illegal deductions from their meagre salaries and allowances are being owed up to seven months’ salary and several months of allowances groan in alarming hardship, Okorocha is busy junketing around the world in expensive private jets, having sold almost all of the state’s assets and obtained loans in excess of N500 billion.”

He insisted that Okorocha should publish what accrued to the 27 local councils, how much he has so far borrowed from banks, receipts from the Federal Government through monthly allocation, excess crude, ecological fund and 13 per cent derivation.

Also, he should state how much he has generated from internal revenue, the sale of state assets, and the illegally deductions so far from the salaries and allowances of Imo civil servants since 2011.

He added: “It is regrettable that Okorocha has arrogantly refused to tell Imolites how much he has received. How can a man build the multi-billion naira largest private estate in Nigeria, sited at Spibat at Amakohia, with state funds?”

pastor gives out 22 cars, and other at birthday

Facebook Share Twitter Share
Abuja – The Senior Pastor of Champions Royal Assembly, Kubwa, Abuja, Joshua Iginla, on Sunday gave out 22 cars and millions of naira ranging from N50,000 to N500,000.
The pastor, who celebrated his birthday and that of his wife at the service, also unveiled 33 book titles written by him.
Presenting the cars, among which were 10 SUV cars to the beneficiaries, Iginla challenged the well-to-do in the society to assist the less-privileged.
The pastor, who said that he had tasted poverty and knew how it felt, said the less-privileged of today could become important personalities tomorrow.
“My birthday is all about giving to the needy. What I do here is just 10 per cent of what I do secretly.
“I don’t give to show up; I give to teach people and to provoke them to give.
“I have many people on scholarship, I have widows on my payroll, we have rescued prostitutes and empowered them with skills acquisition programmes, I have orphans I am taking care of.
“I have schools of the handicapped that we have been assisting and the physically-challenged students irrespective of their religions. Gospel is practical, not only spiritual,” he said.
Iginla said this was the third time that he would be giving out all his cars without leaving any one behind for himself.
Unveiling the books, Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue, commended Iginla for his humility and hard work in writing the books.
Ortom, who recalled that he was a school drop out and later a motor park tout in Gboko, said God made him Governor of Benue in spite of the “political persecution” he suffered.
“At this time in my country’s history that there is dearth of leadership, I commit myself to lead with the fear of God that will translate to equity, integrity, justice and fairness.
“I will strive to unite the people of this country,” he said.
The occasion was attended by Senators Grace Bent, Anthony Kila and Effiong Bob, Onyeka Onwenu, Tope Alabi and Chris Morgan.
There were also 16 Nollywood actors who attended the service, including Zack Orji, Francis Duru, Alex Usifo and Fathia Balogun, six of whom were beneficiaries of the car gifts. (NAN)

4,940 Nigerians are studying In India, say high commissioner

The Indian High Commissioner in Nigeria, Amb. Ajjampur Ghanashyam, has said that there were 4,940 Nigerian students studying in India while 27,890 Nigerians graduated from Indian institutions.

He spoke yesterday in Abuja while featuring on the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Forum.

Ghanashyam said the huge number of Nigerian students in India was a testimony to the good diplomatic relationship between the two countries which, he said dates back to pre-colonial era.

He said as developing countries with huge population it was important for Nigeria and India to maintain close ties with a view to sharing experience that would benefit the wellbeing of their peoples.

Ghanashyam said there were 200 Indian companies in manufacturing, servicing and retail businesses in Nigeria, adding that 36 of them were into pharmaceutical products.

On agriculture, he advised Nigerian farmers to embrace integrated farming to avoid losses that occasionally accompany farming single crops, pointing out that this had been the practice among Indian farmers.

He said India was ready to share its experiences with Nigeria in the agricultural and industrial sectors as part of its contributions to boost Nigeria’s economy.

On the automobile industry, the envoy urged Nigerian entrepreneurs to prioritise the manufacture of component parts, saying it would be difficult for them to compete with ‘big players’ in motor vehicle manufacturing.

Ghanashyam said this was the approach Indian entrepreneurs adopted before going into full scale motor manufacturing.

“Even, as at today, our greatest strength in the automobile industry is in the making of the components.

“Do your research very well; ensure quality; even if you want to go into motor vehicle manufacturing, manufacture the cheapest ones, start with cheap cars”, he advised.

On the alleged harassment of Nigerians resident in India the envoy said the Indian people have no problems with law-abiding Nigerians.

He, however, blamed the few cases of harassment to media reports, saying that negative actions spread wider than positive ones.

The high commissioner said it was time the media gave more publicity to the positive things Nigerians in India were doing and expressed optimism that with time things would change for the better.

Emmanuel Adebayo's mum and brother, Rotimi, begs for forgiveness

Emmanuel Adebayor’s mother Alice and his younger brother, Rotimi have apologized him following a visit of a delegation from Nigeria. The delegation, who are family members and friends, and have been following the drama happening online in the Adebayor household, met with Emmanuel and his siblings- in Didjole and Avedji in Lome, Togo in a bid to settle the rift between them.

According to a member of the delegation, Emmanuel Folorunsho, who confirmed this to Sunday Sunsports in a phone chat, Adebayor’s mother was remorseful and even prayed for his son but the football star is yet to accept their plea owing to some reasons which he wouldn’t like to reveal.

“We met Alice at the market in Koviakope where she sells kitchen utensils. She was quite surprised to see us. She presented her own case and prayed for his son.
Although the former Gunners striker and his mother didn’t see each other, she had reasons to ask him to forgive and let peace reign in the family. Soon after, we met Sheyi and conveyed the message to him”
Emmanuel's brother Rotimi, who reportedly survived a suicide attempt 10 days ago, was at the meeting in Adebayor’s house in Didjole. When Sunday Sunsports put a call through to the Royale FC of Benin striker, he confirmed that his elder brother, Emmanuel invited him and he obliged.
“I was at home in Avedji when he called me to join the peace meeting. I prostrated to him for long hours, begging and seeking for forgiveness. I am really frustrated now and I really expect him to pardon us now”
Sunday Sunsports asked Rotimi about his reaction when Emmanuel Adebayor refused to blink while insisting that Rotimi is unwilling to change his attitude. Rotimi, who claimed to have been psychologically affected by the rancour said he only want his brother to forget the past.
“I am very ill now and I need money to treat myself. I also need cash to pay for my house rent, which is already due for payment. I asked him to assist me but he refused. I hope my plea would not be for nothing”

Emmanuel Adebayor seems to be ready to fight on and ignore the plea tendered by Rotimi and his mum. However, Rotimi reveals that Lucia, the last child of the family is the only sibling Emmanuel Adebayor holds no grudge against.

Kinsmen to go spiritual over crisis
After the failed attempt to resolve the lingering crisis between Emmanuel Adebayor, the super rich son of Igbaye, Osun State and his siblings, the four-man delegation from Nigeria are leaving no stone unturned in their bid to create a peaceful situation between the two parties.

Sunday Sunsports has confirmed that the delegation and other members of the family in both Igbaye, where Adebayor’s father hailed from and Ekusa, his mother’s hometown, are now making frantic efforts to consult spiritualists as a way to combat the crisis.

Emmanuel Folorunsho who was in the team that met with Emmanuel Adebayor in Lome, added his own view in support of the move.
“It is true that we have plans to meet with spiritualists because we have met the two parties and there is a deadlock at the moment. We cannot fold our arms and leave the situation in a messy state neither are we going to wait for it to get messier.”
“All I know is that prayer is the key and we’ll employ that to solve the situation. We hope God Almighty will speak to them and a lasting peace will reign.”
Last week, the Onigbaye of Igbaye, His Royal Majesty, Oba Joseph Morounfoye Okunlola stated that the family have met and consulted Ogun, the Yoruba god of iron concerning the situation in Emmanuel Adebayor’s family. He went on to say that they must appease the gods if their situation is to change.

Sunday Sunsports called the Monarch to seek his opinion about the reports presented to him by the delegation when they returned to Igbaye from Lome, Togo.

He backed the idea while noting that peace is paramount at this stage as he also hopes to invite some members of the family for another meeting.
“I have received their report and I must confess that they have done their best. However, we’re still in it and hopefully the matter would be solved amicably soon.”
The Monarch also revealed that they are likely to make a second trip to Ghana but the elders and close family members would be in the second delegation when they decide to visit Emmanuel Adebayor.

Governor Okorocha Speaks On Biafra, NASS crisis and Economy

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has shared his views on Biafran separatism and the Radio Biafra broadcasts that are gaining popularity in the south east.
The governor was interviewed by Omoyele Sowore, Sahara TV’s executive producer, on Saturday, June 27. It also included a discussion on the economic conditions in Nigeria in the post-Jonathan period, and the political division within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Okorocha said that the radio “does not have the backing of the South East, any leader of the South East, or any Igbo man.”

“You cannot say who actually is behind this or where is this radio station. The radio station is not in Imo state. The [Biafra] war is gone and gone,” he added.

The governor said “outsiders” were responsible for the recent online and on air campaigns calling for separatism.

“I cannot say all here, but know that it is not the backing of the South East trying to create tension and relevance, just like they have gotten the attention now,” Okorocha said.

The governor’s critical speech continued with comparing the Biafran struggle to a mirage: “the more you look, the less you see.”

Okorocha agreed with President Buhari’s claim that the last government left Nigeria with a “virtually empty treasury”. He also noted that the Jonathan administration managed the federal funds poorly.

“If Buhari used the word ‘near empty treasury,’ I think he is being kind with the word. I think what we have is a complete lack [of money in the country].

“I am sure that you are not aware that the federal government takes 54% of (the budget) and a state government takes 24% of that money. How much comes to the state government?!”

Governor Okorocha has also cleared the air on why he was travelling around with his private jet, even though there were rumors that he sold it.

“That should not affect my private life. I hate poverty, I hate injustice. So seeing me in a private jet should not be a big deal.”

The governor was also critical of Buhari’s ability to mediate the ‘civil war’ between the APC politicians in the NASS.

“If you watch President Buhari, he is not really bringing himself or imposing anything. His neutrality is the cause of what you see today. The president has said that the National Assembly should take whoever they want as leaders, and at a particular point the party felt that in the principles of zoning and equity should now begin here [at the NASS] so that everyone feels part of the nation.”

Okorocha asserted that the APC is still strong, despite the recent disagreements. He likened the events of figures like Bukola Saraki emerging to prominence within the Senate to the usual freedom they enjoy. The governor reminded about ex-Speaker Tambuwal’s defection to the APC in the middle of the NASS session.

“My party is not in disarray at all, what you are witnessing is real democracy. It’s devoid of position, so when people allow some level of free will to exercise their freedom than most people misunderstand it to be quarrels, I do not think our party is in disarray,” he concluded.

I Dropped My Presidential Ambition For Buhari - saraki

The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has denied reports that he is nursing the ambition for presidency in 2019, saying he actually quit his presidential bid in the 2015 election for President Muhammadu Buhari.

Saraki stated that he contributed immensely to the emergence of Buhari as President and contributed greatly to his victory in the presidential election held on March 28, 2015.

The Senate President, who spoke to select journalists in an exclusive interview in Abuja on Saturday, also denied having plans to dump the All Progressives Congress due to the ongoing crisis in the party over his leadership of the Senate.

Rather, he said what remained paramount in his mind at the moment was how to support the Buhari-led administration to tackle the various social and economic problems confronting the country.

Saraki said, “I was the first person that stepped down his political ambition, once General Buhari announced that he was going to contest the presidential election. And since then, prior to the period of election, I worked tirelessly to support his emergence.

“Even some of my friends who are not supporting me now are doing so because I did not support them in their presidential ambition and that I supported President Buhari. That is why I find it funny that the same people are now claiming to love Buhari more than me. It is a very funny world.

“These are people that I was begging to leave the stage for Buhari to run since all of us are young. They are now the one going round to say that Saraki did not like Buhari but time will tell.”

The Presidency, however, faulted Saraki’s claim of stepping down for Buhari ahead of the presidential election.

Saraki had on October 13, 2014, announced the suspension of his presidential bid in the interest of the country and his party. He, however, did not state which of the other aspirants he was going to back.

Saraki’s statement then partly read, “I decided to step down my ambition because Nigeria’s political outlook for 2015 is very complicated and this is the time for every patriotic politician to situate his personal ambition in the context of the country’s overall interest.

“I don’t think our party can afford too much internal rancour going into next year’s election. I, therefore, think some of us need to make the sacrifice and be part of the solution rather than part of the problem of the party.”

This will be Saraki’s first personal response to the ongoing crisis that is trailing his controversial emergence as the President of the Senate on June 9.

Saraki had led a faction of APC senators, under the auspices of the Like Minds Senators, to defy the party’s choice of Ahmad Lawan as the Senate President.

In what many have described as a ‘coup’, the pro-Saraki group had allied with the opposition lawmakers in the Peoples Democratic Party to make Saraki leader of the upper chamber of the legislature in the absence over 50 APC senators.

A similar scenario had also played out in the House of Representatives where Yakubu Dogara opposed Femi Gbajabiamila, the choice candidate of his party, to emerge Speaker of the House.

Explaining what happened on the National Assembly leadership election day, Saraki said he smuggled himself into the chamber on the day the 8th Assembly was inaugurated when he became aware of an alleged plan to abduct and prevent him from standing for the Senate presidential election

The Senate President also defended his absence from the International Conference Centre venue of a proposed meeting between President Buhari and APC lawmakers on the day of the election.

He insisted that he did not receive any invitation for the meeting.

Saraki said, “As regards the meeting, on the morning of the inauguration, I didn’t finish meeting until 4am of that day and I had got information that efforts would likely be made to make sure that I didn’t get access into the chambers.

He said the plan before was that senators-elect should go to the Transcorp Hilton Hotel around 8:00am and 9:00am to proceed to the National Assembly.

Tottenham Enters the race to sign Victor Moses

Super Eagles and Chelsea forward, Victor Moses could remain in London, with reports linking him with a summer move to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Mirror has claimed that Spurs have turned their attention to Moses, having missed out on the signature of Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez and Monaco youngster Anthony Martial, who have both signed new deal with their respective teams.
And it is being suggested that the Nigeria international is not keen to return to Stoke City as the prospect of playing in the Europa League with the White Hart Lane outfit is a more interesting option.
Victor Moses, who in August 2012 signed a five – year contract with Chelsea, has has been farmed out on loan to Liverpool and Stoke City in the last two seasons.

Olamide Stole shakiti bobo dance from me - LT

An upcoming singer, Olowu Taiwo aka LT. has said that rapper, Olamide stole the popular ‘Shakiti Bobo’ dance moves from him.
LT made this assertion during an interview with HIP TV, monitored by Vanguard Newspaper. In his words, “After I did my video, a friend of mine told me the dance I did in the video (Yobo dance) was trending on Instagram by Olamide. And my friend told me he had already told someone who is in Olamide’s crew about the dance. I released the audio version of my own song on 22nd April, 2015, and Olamide released his own song on 2nd May. During that time, I was working on my viral video which I released on 6th May. It wasn’t up to 24 hours after that, I saw ‘Shakiti Bobo.’ I was like, what’s going on; why is this happening at this particular time. I’m not here to point fingers that someone stole my dance moves, but I feel it’s not cool for you to do something that you knew about from someone else, and pick it up as your own.”
Meanwhile, when a call was put through to Olamide’s manager, Alex, to react to the story, he hung up the phone, and other attempts to reach him proved abortive.

Press Statement By Ikedi Ohakim - Says His Life Is In Danger

Press statement I just received from the office of former Imo
state governor, Ikedi Ohakim.
Following some recent developments around my person
and the avalanche of misinformation and deliberate lies
being peddled about me, I am constrained to issue this
statement, first to douse anxiety of every well-meaning
fellow who has shown concern and second, to alert
members of the Nigerian public to a clear danger to
my life.
NEWSPAPER REPORTS
On June 1, 2015, I travelled out of the country by LH 595
operated by Lufthansa with seat number 04K to honour a
medical appointment and also attend my daughter’s
graduation at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. On
June 02, 2015, a newspaper posted a headline that I had been
apprehended and taken to custody by the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for fraud and
misappropriation of public funds.
On inquiry, I discovered that the story was taken to the
newspaper in question by an aide of a top politician in my
state, Imo. Instructively, the story was carried by only the
newspaper in question. A few days later, the same aide of the
supposedly top politician took another fake news to some
media houses that I sneaked abroad to dispose of my
properties because of bankruptcy.
THE PETITION AGAINST ME
What is playing out began with a petition against me to the
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by the
same desperate politician in my state. The petition was
written by a group he fabricated that goes by the name,
Alliance For Good Governance. Those who are conversant with
the politics of Imo state would recall that it was this same
group that constituted itself into a vicious gang-up against
my administration. It was this group, the Alliance For Good
Governance, that sold the lie that I molested a Catholic Priest
in Imo state.
It was the same group that carried out the failed public
demonstration against me in front of the EFCC Headquarters
in Abuja. It was the same group, led by this same politician,
that was used by those who were bent on denying me my
victory at the April 26, 2011 governorship election, to kidnap
an INEC returning officer, one Mr. Ngozi Nwoko, and took him
to Bolingo Hotel, Onitsha, Anambra state, where he was
locked up, thus preventing him from turning in the results
from Ohaji-Egbema local government area which put me in a
clear lead. The kidnap of Mr. Nwoko was the first script that
led to the so-called supplementary election of May 6, 2011
during which the final script was acted out.
One of the issues raised in the petition was the same carried
in similar petitions shortly after I left office four years ago. For
example, the petitioners demanded, among other things, that I
should be investigated for misappropriating the proceeds from
the N18.5billion draw-down from the Imo N40 billion
Development Bond which my administration issued in 2010.
Faced with the severe financial crunch of 2008 – 2010, my
administration mustered the discipline and secured a N40b
Development Bond in 2010 with a first tranche draw-down of
N18.5b. Before we left office, we serviced our obligation to
investors for the first tranche of the bond to the tune of
N10.1b (principal + interest) and we left behind the sum of
N13.3 billion from it, being part of the total of N26.6 billion
we handed over to the succeeding administration. Up till this
moment, the administration that took over from mine has not
denied that I left behind N26.6 billion including the N13.3
billion from the Bond proceeds. And on this score, I challenge
anybody, whether in government or outside government, to
controvert this assertion.
Even so, let me refer to a statement credited to the current
administration through its Commissioner for Finance and as
reported in the Daily Sun Newspaper of Wednesday January
23, 2013, page 10. The report quoted the Commissioner as
saying that “the previous administration of Ikedi Ohakim had
secured a bond of N18 billion for capital projects such as
roads, water and Oguta Wonder Lake, but when we came to
power, we decided to prioritize our projects. Out of the N18
billion that was secured, about N6 billion had been spent and
we met only N12.5 billion and we convened a meeting of all
stakeholders and got their approval to approach SEC to
change the use of the fund”.
The report further stated that the Commissioner disclosed that
“the balance of the bond proceeds were channeled into critical
areas of infrastructure development such as the building of
305 classroom blocks, building of ultra-modern general
hospitals in the 27 local government areas of the state and
construction of vital roads across the local government areas,
informing that works were currently going simultaneously in
the various communities”. Need I say more?
CLONING MY VOICE
Part of the script is to set me up against the federal
authorities especially those manning the security agencies. I
have it on good authority that, again, my voice has been
cloned in a purported interview I granted to a radio station in
which I supposedly lambasted some top federal government
officials, including those heading the security agencies. The
tape of this fake interview was then handed over to some of
these key Federal Government officials.
While I do not necessarily link this development with a recent
incident with the EFCC, there can be no doubt that the
intention is to put me on a destructive collision course with
the federal authorities. But I believe this plot will also fail
because those top government functionaries being targeted
are not vulnerable to such evil machinations and antics. Still, I
feel it is important to alert fellow Nigerians to this practice
which is however not new in my state, Imo. Apart from that
this method was massively deployed against me prior to the
2011 general election. Another former governor of the state
and an elder statesman, also from the state, recently suffered
a similar fate in the hands of these criminals using the same
trick.
Apart from voice cloning, these elements are also experts in
forging signatures. They did it in 2010 when they forged the
signatures of a prominent Catholic Archbishop, an Anglican
Bishop and other prominent political leaders in the state in a
petition against me to the President of the Federal Republic of
Nigeria. But the plot failed because the latter, upon
investigation, discovered that the Archbishop, the Bishop and
the leaders in question never wrote any petition. The discovery
was also to the bewilderment of those highly regarded top
clergymen and leaders. I advise other public figures in the
entire country to be on the watch because this habit is
capable of spreading.
THE DRAMA OF JUNE 18, 2015
Finally, let me seize this opportunity to make some
clarifications over my so called arrest by the EFCC on
Thursday June 18 2015. As a law-abiding citizen, I will always
make myself available to any investigative agency because I
have absolutely nothing to fear. However, let me seize this
opportunity to state that it is high time we stopped trying to
create disord between vital agencies of government like the
EFCC and pubic officers, past or present. The agencies are
there to do their jobs. Orchestrating newspaper reports on
their legitimate lines of actions gives the erroneous impression
that the agencies and their officials are out to witch-hunt.
This is unfortunate and, in my view, it is one of the major
reasons why there is so much myth about the accountability
by public office holders.
On the incident of Thursday, June 18, 2015, I would submit,
with the highest sense of responsibility, that the drama was
unnecessary. I never evaded invitation by the agency. This
can be corroborated by the statement made by the
commission’s spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, as quoted in
the media: “We were expecting a former governor of Imo
State, Ikedi Ohakim, today (Wednesday) to come and shed
light on some issues in an old case we have been
investigating. We are about rounding off the investigation and
we need him to clarify some issues but he didn’t show up; he
may still come today or tomorrow” (see Daily Sun of
Wednesday, June 17, 2015; page 13). So, the question is, if
the commission knew or realized that I could still “come today
or tomorrow”, why the drama just the following morning?
In other words, the admission that they were still expecting
me “today or tomorrow” negates the impression created by a
section of the media that I was avoiding arrest. It means that
by the time the spokesman made that statement on
Wednesday June 17, 2015, I was not yet a subject for arrest;
notwithstanding the fact that I was at the headquarters of the
commission the same Wednesday, June 17, 2015 to submit a
letter asking for more time in view of my health challenges;
and which letter was duly acknowledged.
There is no intention here to pitch my words against that of
the commission which, as I noted earlier, is doing its
legitimate duties. But I am compelled to make this clarification
in order to erase the impression that Ikedi Ohakim was
evading “arrest”. Let me repeat for the umpteenth time that I
have no reason, whatsoever, to evade interrogation by any
anti-corruption agency in Nigeria, or anywhere in the world,
concerning my tenure as governor of Imo State.
CONCLUSION
Throughout my tenure as governor, we never hunted political
opponents. There was no political assassination, no arson, no
official of government disappeared. There was no
impeachment of any kind or threat of impeachment. No
senatorial zone complained of marginalization. No contract
failed. No contractor ran away with the state’s funds. There
was labour harmony. We never owed salaries as we made
payment of salaries a first line charge. In short, there was law
and order and Imo worked on one page.
But contrary to the goodwill that existed while I was in office,
I have since become an object of attacks and ridicule.
Nigerians will recall that on May 15, 2014, directly after I
declared interest to re-contest the governorship election of my
state, my only house in Owerri was bombed in what was
evidently, an attempt to assassinate me. As I write this
statement, my portrait is still missing from amongst those of
other former governors in a gallery created for that purpose at
the Government House, Owerri.
Still, let me state that in spite of the misadventure of some of
these elements who see me as their only obstacle to
‘greatness’, I remain committed to the peace, progress and
stability of Imo state in particular and Nigeria in general. I
have implicit confidence that the vision, dedication, fear of
God and honesty of purpose with which I served my people
shall vindicate me.
To God Be The Glory.

Father Chop Off Daughter Finger For Stealing Meat From Her Mother's pot

Men of the Plateau State Police Command have arrested a 40-year-old man, Surulere Raphael, for cutting off his daughter’s finger on allegation that she stole his money.

Mr Raphael was paraded on Friday at the police headquarters alongside one Ponjue Domsing, who was alleged to have killed his father, Mr. Domsing, for not buying him a motorcycle as promised.
Raphael said he cut off his daughter’s finger because she stole his N1,500 and meat from her mother’s pot of soup. The girl’s severed finger has, however, been recovered as an exhibit, while the girl is being treated in the hospital.

The state Commissioner of Police, Nasiru Oki, said the suspects would be charged to court for culpable homicide and criminal conspiracy.

He said:
“The Plateau State Police Command, in its resolve to rid the state of crime and criminal activities, has arrested some murder suspects and other individuals for various offences ranging from criminal conspiracy to armed robbery and car snatching.
May 2, 2015, at Doruwa Vwang village in Shendam Local Government Area of the state, one Ponjue Domsing killed his father, Mr. Domsing, for refusing to buy a motorcycle for him as promised. The investigation has been completed and the suspect will soon appear in court when court resumes from strike.
Also on May 4, 2015, there was a report from Bukuru Division that one Christopher Vincent was stabbed to death by Mondam Pam and dumped his body by the roadside along Zawan Road. Detectives arrested the deceased’s girlfriend, Magdaline Fidelis, and upon interrogation, she confessed that the deceased was killed by Monday Pam over misunderstanding between them in her house.”

Imo State Lawmakers Seek Enforcement on ogogoro Ban

THE Imo State House of Assembly have moved a motion mandating the Imo State government’s relevant agencies to enforce the prohibition of sale, consumption and distribution of locally made gin, also known as Ogogoro.

Meanwhile, the assembly has approved the request made by the state governor, Rochas Okorocha, to approve seven Special Advisers in his administration.

The motion endorsed by the members in the plenary in Owerri was sponsored by the member representing Ideato North constituency, Arthur Innocent Egwim. The lawmakers recalled with sadness the death of about 80 persons who were said to have consumed the local gin in Rivers State.

Before adjourning to June 30, the house expressed disgust over the poor sanitary condition of Owerri and other parts of the state. They also directed health and sanitary inspectors to carry out their duties.

The lawmakers urged those conveying wastes for disposal with vehicles to cover the back of their vehicles, reminding the Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission (ENTRACO) to carry out its functions.

Home Lottery: Helping Nigerians To Own A Homes

Director, Home Lottery Limited; Mr. Christian Abraham (left), presenting a cheque to Mr. Gabriel Mokogwu, the first winner of a house in the company’s ongoing Home Lottery for the perfection of title to the house by Lagos State government while the Managing Director of the company, Mr. Kelvin Otung looks on at the Gold Estate in Alimosho Local Government area of Lagos state8

THE Home Lottery is offering Nigerians the opportunity to own a homes through a credible, sustainable and logically transparent lottery scheme, with the first recipient taking possession last week, at the Gold Estate in Alimosho Local Council of Lagos State.

The winner of the maiden edition, Mr Elua Gabriel Mokogwu, a businessman dealing in Kitchen utensils and resident in Asaba could not contain his joy as he received the keys to the three bedroom bungalow, talking on how he got to play in the lottery, Mokogwu said, “This is my first time. I have never played lottery before. I was browsing through the internet searching for something and the website just popped up, I followed the prompt and saw their vision, the people behind it and I just thought this people could not be bad people and I gave it a trial.”

He added, “I bought two tickets for N500, each one for N250.00 on May 30, 2015. On the day of the draw the management could get in touch with me but later that day many people began to call me to ask if it was true that I won a house until the management later got in touch with me and told me about what happened.”

Comparing this lottery scheme to that of Lagos State, the Managing Director of Home Lottery said: “When people talk about Lagos State having a housing lottery scheme I tend to differ a bit in the fact that what Lagos State does is it puts up a ballot where people participate to have an allocation for a mortgage because at the end of the day when you qualify for the ballot you begin to pay for a mortgage facility for the property, that for me is not lottery as it were. It is a balloting that allows you to qualify for a mortgage scheme, what we are doing is lottery, once you win, you don’t pay for anything.”

Asked how many people participated and how Nigerians reacted to it Otung said: “We all understand how Nigerians perceive and embrace things like this especially as a new project, people have reacted in different ways some will said we have come up with another scam but we tell them this is for real and indeed it is for real as you can see and attest to what we are doing. We believe that the authenticity of what we are doing will speak for itself and Nigerians will come to believe in what we are doing.”

Senegalese-American musician, Akon, whose “Akon Lighting Africa’’ initiative is aimed at bringing electricity to some 600 million Africans, on Tuesday declared the launch of new “Solar Academy’’.

It would try to give African engineers and entrepreneurs the skills needed to develop solar power.
European experts will help to supply training equipment and programmes.

I don't know my real Age -charly Boy

Maverick musician, Charles Oputa popularly known as Charly Boy who celebrated his birthday anniversary last Friday in Abuja, has declared that he does not know his actual age.

“I don’t really know my age. How people came about 64 is still a surprise to me. I am not particular about how old or young the number is, what I’m concerned about is the age of my mind and the age of my body.

From my physique and my energy, I feel like I am 35 years younger. However, going by the age of my mind, experiences, my responsibilities and wisdom I should be about 87 years of age,” Charly said.

The controversial Area Father who is the first son of the late famous and iconic Nigerian legal luminary, Justice Chukwudiofu Oputa said, the lessons he learnt so far in life has made him to be open-minded and stay true to himself. According to him, experience has taught him to be strong, master his art of contentment and clean living with moderation to life without stress.

On his relationship with his family, Charly Boy said, “My family is my rock, my children are my joy and pride. Family is what I have known all my life. I love all my children in different ways and I see a bit of me in all of them. And my strongest principle in life is ‘live and let live’, because you can’t live your life judging or labelling others when you don’t know the stuff they are made o

Speaking further, the weird musician who stunned the Nigerian music scene in the 80s with his peculiar fashion style like that of late Michael Jackson and British born pop singer Boy George said, despite his age, his fashion culture has not changed, adding “it depends on my mood.”

He, however, confessed that he has simmered down with less adventures than before because there’s nothing much to prove in the pop culture again. According to him, he tends to focus more on nurturing the peace and calm he feels within.

“When my usefulness is engaged, when I see the influence I bring in people’s lives, when I’m able to add value and make measurable contribution to individuals and society. When people who come in contact with me tell me am not what they thought or expected I would be. A lot of these testimonies form my very happy moment,” he added.

On the things that pricks his emotions, the Area Father said, he hates to say goodbye and usually find it difficult to see friends or loved ones off when they are travelling. Talking about his regrets over the years, he said, “As an adventurous person, I goofed many times but if I had to live it over again, I wouldn’t change anything.

I mean, I don’t have regrets. I live life on the edge and to change would mean doing things in a conventional way. If it is not daunting and scary, it is certainly not for me. I want to think I scare myself too,” Charly said, adding “Expect to see more exciting things as I reinvent myself, my brand and as I go a notch higher in shocking conventional and unintelligent minds, more creative inspiration abounds.”
